- My first paid commission was at the age of 9 where I was paid a nickle by my classmates for every horse that I drew. I started oil painting at the age of 16 years old. At the age of 23, My twin sister and I opened our first Art Studio (A & A Artworks). I taught oil painting classes and painted commissions. Unfortunately, due to some bad personal choices that I made,life took some unexpected turns and I gave up art for over twenty years and pursued a career as a registered nurse. After much personal contemplation regarding what makes one truly happy,I have returned to my heart's passion and life couldn't be better! I also have another love... It's crossing the finish line at 5K's, 10K's, marathon's and triathlons. I love the feeling of enduring and accomplishing more than what you thought your body could. If I had one single piece of advice that I would give anyone it would be this : Never, ever give up on a dream! Do what you love, love what you do! It's really just that simple.
